BBLIST #1105 – The BB List Payment Protection Service

After last week’s mailing a buyer got in touch asking, “Why are you so sure that your payment protection service is any good?”

It is very rare that sellers try to sell shoddy goods on BB, or in other words not describe honestly any issues with the kit.

Why? Well, the September 2015 act has seen the end of caveat emptor (buyer beware). It is now the seller’s responsibility to describe the goods honestly, any vagueness in any for sale listing for second hand goods now benefits the buyer.

It isn’t worthwhile for the seller to be dishonest. Under the act, the buyer must not be worse off if there is a problem and the goods have to be returned.

When using BB the seller is not paid until the buyer has had the 24 hours to check the goods over. We hold payment for the buyer in trust until the goods have arrived and the buyer has had that 24 hours to check the goods over.

If there is a problem the seller has to either fix the problem, or if the fix is not good enough, accept a return. If this happens, they will lose the cost of shipping both ways. That is not a risk any sane person will take!

Without further ado, on with this week’s BB list!
